I tend to respond or react quickly to peoples' replies and comments (provided I see them) because this is the only social life I have lol. I'm not really ashamed of it.

I don't understand why that makes me look like I'm desperate, tho. I saw someone mention adding an artificial buffer period between replies "so [they] don't look desperate".

It must be one of those unwritten social norms that eludes me as an autistic. Or a status thing, which also eludes me as an autistic. I tend to see myself as just another human interacting with other humans on the internet.

I don't think or judge anyone any particular way by the duration of their response time. If it takes them a while, I just assume they're busy or something. If they respond quickly, I don't think it's anything outside of what I consider ordinary asynchronous human interaction.
