Entry 0013
Earlier today I went to two different Walgreen's to pick up prescriptions. I regularly have to play musical pharmacies because one of them doesn't have a prescription I get every month in stock. It's so stupid.
One of the pharmacies is where my Invega prescription was sent to. I'm taking 4.5 mg every night. Doc prescribes 9 mg tablets and says to cut them in half. The manufacturer of the Invega tablets says they're not supposed to be cut. So the pharmacy has to contact my doctor to see about changing the prescription to something in line with the manufacturer's requirements. The pharmacy still hasn't heard back from the doctor. I'll give it a day, and then I'll have to call the doctor's office tomorrow.
The only way to get a 4.5 mg dose in line with the manufacturer's requirements is if the doc writes two prescriptions: a 3 mg and a 1.5 mg one. They don't come in 4.5 mg. Which means I'd have to pay for two prescriptions.
What usually ends up happening is the pharmacy fills the 9 mg with the doctor's instructions to cut them in half. Since the manufacturer doesn't design them in a way that is easy to cut, I end up cutting them with a pill cutter and not getting two even 4.5 mg halves.
This happens every three months. It would be easier if I just took 3 mg, but my doctor is reluctant to lower the dose.
There are three stupid things about this: (1) why can't the doctor just give me a 3 mg prescription; (2) why doesn't the pharmacy do what it did for the past nine months and just fill it with the doctor's original instructions, because obviously they went against the manufacturer's recommendation the last two times so why is it stopping them this time; (3) why doesn't the manufacturer make fucking 4.5 mg pills or design the pills to be easily cuttable.
I have a week's worth of Invega left right now, so hopefully they'll figure it out before then.
Today is the third consecutive day I've went for a walk outside. The route I take usually takes me 17-18 minutes.
It's been 0 days since I've had to deal with my parents' toxic bullshit.
I'm tired of everything.
